I rarely write reviews of this type but felt strongly enough about this book to take the time to write this one,I looked at the other books that Mr. Leadbetter had published and saw that he had written quite a few. I then read the synopsis of "Relic Hunter" and thought it sounded interesting. Big disappointment. From "The seed had been sown, the dye set" on page 5 it just went downhill. Why wasn't the draft proofread?The main characters have no back round or development and the while the plot does show some possibilities little effort was made to grow the story. Perhaps his other books are better but I couldn't bring myself to try them.

The Relic Hunters Volume 1 David Leadbeater Books Reviews
I bought this book based off the cover and the description, and I was not disappointed. The concept of the book is great and I couldn’t put it down once I started. There’s action and secrets with a little bit of history thrown in that combined make for a great story. I’m excited to see where the next book takes the team and I’ll highly recommend this one to anyone that listens.
A very poorly written action thriller. The heroes are so bad and onedimensional that you will hope that the bad guys win. Two stars because the beginning looked more promising than the book.
Characters - we have an english thief with nice teeth, supposed to be the best thief in the world. But he steals nothing the whole book. We have a supposedly planning mastermind, but she doesn't seem to plan anything. Another one is "the old guy" with 43. There is of course the mandatory hacker and the tough chick. I couldn't care less if one of them died, but of course they win without a scratch.
This is a series I will not continue.
This new series reminds me of the Matt drake series yet it is also a series all on its own with great characters and I can't wait to see what they do next !
I really love the way David Leadbeater develops his storyline, richly entwined with historical events and treasures, and keeps the flow fast and fluid. This is as good as his other series, which I love as well. Please keep them coming, you are an amazing artist!!.
Looking forward to more adventures with the Relic Hunters. Have enjoyed Matt Drake and now intrigued with this new ensemble of characters. I read for pure enjoyment and escapism that I find in historical archeological stories that allow me to be taken away for awhile from the reality of every day. Hope to learn more about each character along the way as they embark on new adventures.
I was unsure about this team at first until I realized I was making sure they were a good, loyal family. Once I decided that they were it was easy to slip inside this new family. They are delightful. And it will be great to get into more relic hunting and the knowledge behind them. I enjoyed this book immensely and can't wait to read more about Bodie's adventures.
Great action, excitement & suspense. Love the historical significance. Fabulous characters. So many directions & possibilities for new story lines, elaboration of character backgrounds & future days of those characters. First books I've read by David Leadbeater. Will definitely read more. Very much looking forward to the next book in this series.
